Utah is home to a wealth of artistic talent that is world class. Our richness and heritage in the arts is truly unique. Community Alliance is rolling out Salt Lake Broadway, a new program that brings a weekly music and arts festival to Downtown Salt Lake. Like New York’s Broadway, Salt Lake’s Broadway district (along 300 South) is becoming the focal point for a myriad of diverse and abundant artistic experiences that celebrate the world class artistic talents of the people of Utah.

The vision of Salt Lake Broadway is to create a gathering place for Utah’s finest artistic offerings, and to make this rich array of music, art, theater and culinary experiences available to all.

Together with Community Alliance, Salt Lake Broadway and its community partners cultivate a greater opportunity for participants of all ages to experience the arts. We will become a premiere destination. We will play a vital role in the current resurgence of Downtown Salt Lake, and we will contribute to education in support of the arts.

• Salt Lake Broadway supports local artists and musicians in a way that hasn’t existed before. We support our local arts community with a new level of excellence in an environment of trust and mutual respect.
• Salt Lake Broadway will be a boon to Salt Lake businesses. Ultimately, the program will attract visitors to Salt Lake in great numbers as well as giving everyone who comes to Salt Lake City a full spectrum of artistic choices for every age level and interest, so that every participant can find exciting and accessible options for cultural entertainment.
• Salt Lake Broadway will contribute a portion of proceeds to education programs in support of the arts. We would like to make the arts a fundamental experience for the future generations.  We want our children to gain appreciation for the arts and to have exposure to the entire spectrum of classic and diverse art experiences that Utah can provide.
• We are promoting Utah as a leader in the arts community. Utah will become one of the nation’s premiere destinations for artistic events that challenge the intellect, stir the emotions, ignite imaginations and explore the full breadth of the human experience.

Particularly in challenging times, communities need enriching experiences. There is no other destination that can showcase the breadth of rich and diverse cultural experiences that Utah can provide.

Through Salt Lake Broadway, we will expand our cultural horizons. We will give Utah artists and musicians more opportunities to connect with the community, to enhance their artistic expression, and to let the community (and visitors) experience the full breadth of Utah’s artistic offerings.

Salt Lake Broadway will contribute to the resurgence of Downtown Salt Lake in a way no other initiatives are addressing, and we will accomplish this by supporting our common interests with the State of Utah, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, the Downtown Alliance and the Salt Lake Chamber.

We will make Utah visible as one of the world’s most significant locations for the arts, and we will make Salt Lake a key destination. This will create thousands of jobs and will enhance the economy in Utah.

Salt Lake Broadway will influence our next generation by giving families an invitation to “dress up” for experiences that can increase their appreciation for the arts, and can help to fund additional arts education.
